Nuevos pescadores New fishermen

Si estamos usando moscas secas (anzuelos 14-16) se mojan y ya salen cargadas de agua;

I was working very much so during January I did not write anything. Like summary a small chronicle goes.
The climate was very changeable like up to the moment. Warm days, cold days, rain and wind.
The rivers were lowering his levels, they are getting accommodated. In the malleo few activity in surface still, awhile of active fish (30-50 minutes) in the morning and then total death.
The willow worm did not appear, I don´t know if they will not appear or they come slowed down.

I have been guide guys who do your first experiences at Patagonia, in the fly fishing.
Some of them took courses of casting during this year or they have experiences of traditional fishing near to your places of residence. Always it goes a time to adapt to going fishing in a river, that is different, of course, to being casting in the lakes of Palermo.
Someone of the guys as Paul is a great caster and he had the advantage of going fishing in other modalities and also he fishing with fly tararira.

We were to the malleo river, to the meliquina river and to the lake and river Filo hua hum. All places to be able to wade and cast comfortable, but several days were very windy.
I taught them to walk in a river, to read its waters, to look for trouts, to cast (always I start by teaching casting and laying) and in some cases I realized alterations in the casts.
I taught also how " fight" with a trout.
Frequently I guide new fishermen who realized recently courses of cast in Buenos Aires, and I would like to make notice certain characteristics in the majority of they:
1) They use heavy equipments (of 6 for up) or very hard.
2) They are qualified to cast far but with difficulty of realizing cast to 10-12 meters.
3) They realize always roll cast to accommodate the line before the cast that they are going to realize.
One of the characteristics of the fly fishing in our zone is that of being able to go fishing with medium equipments (4-5) with floating ilnes with cast of 7-15 meters (I believe that the majority of the shots are of about 10 meters), realizing precise presentations, often under trees.
Some observations on the equipment and casting:
1) The big equipments complicate to be able to realize short shots.
2) The roll cast before the cast:
If we are using dry flies (hooks 14-16) they are wetted and they work out loaded with water;
It produces that there is very much disturbance in the water (let's remember that we are to 10-15 meters of a fish); if one is floating and there is no great domain of the line it produces hookings in the craft and in the own body.
To the fishermen who are thinking to go fishing for our zone:
1) Equipments with rod 4-6 but that are not hard.
2) To practise cast of among 7 and 15 metres, well presented.
3) Not to realize roll cast before the cast until you are using shoting line and you are fishing to more than 20 meters from you are stopped.
Raising the line of the water with energy to begin to castr every time it will be sufficient.
4) Leave the dry fly in the water only when "it is fishing"
5) Tou have to practise cast with the arm in different positions (sideward, for the front, from another shoulder) thinking in the windy days.

Always it is a great satisfaction for me, when I guide new fishermen in their first fly fishing excursion to the river.
To all those fishermen
who came and are coming this season, thanks!
